Ahead of this years awards, remind yourself of the BRITs 2017. Is anyone secretly hoping for another Madonna cape scenario this year?

Last year’s fabulously glamorous Brit Awards was held on 22 February, and was the 37th edition of the British annual pop music awards.The ceremony was held at the famous O2 Arena in London.


Prior to the show, Presenter Emma Willis hosted The Brits Are Coming, as a teaser to reveal this year's nominees which was broadcast on 14 January. The ceremony included a tribute to the great George Michael who died the month before as an outstanding British artist.

The British Album of the year was David Bowie’s Blackstar with runners up including Kano’s Made in the Manor, Michael Kiwanuka’s Love & Hate and Skepta's Konnichiwa.

British Video of the year was One Direction’s History, and single of the year went to Little Mix’s Shout Out To My Ex.


Zane Lowe presented David Bowie with the Male artist of the year, whilst Rag'n'Bone Man beat Anne-Marie, Blossoms, Skepta and Stormzy to breakthrough artist of the year. Bastille lost out on group of the year to The 1975, and Drake and Beyonce won international male and female solo artists respectively.


This year is set to be just as talent ridden and star-studded, with nominees including Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher, Loyle Carner, Rag'N'Bone Man, Stormzy, Dua Lipa, Jessie Ware and Paloma Faith.
