New Music Monday: 12 March

Since last weeks flirtation with 1960s indie and slick electro pop we've found the next rock sensation.

New Artist:

Kaleb McKane

The one to watch this week is a true rock artist. Kaleb McKane has complex vocals that take twists and turns in many of his songs. We particularly love Talk to God, which demonstrates his true potential. Kaleb's vocals range from falsetto to deep and dirty, artfully mimicking his guitar playing.

While Kaleb is a pure rock God I can't help but pick up on bluesy riffs that add to the complexity of his guitar and vocals. You will discover anthems you didn't even know existed.

With an upcoming show at Camden Rocks Festival, the opportunity to witness this marvel beckons. Check out his cool video for Talk to God, below.

New Track(s):

Lily Allen - 'Three' and 'Higher'

This week we have two new tracks to check out. Lily Allen has announced new details of her fourth studio album (out in June) and released both tracks to give you a taste of what is to come.

Three is a tender tune written from the perspective of her three year old child. She laments spending time away from her family on tour and the effect that this has. In many ways this shows a new side to Lily Allen; more chilled out and adult. Gone are the days of partying round the streets of London. It is simple but heartfelt.

Higher carries on this more chilled vibe, signalling that this could be consistent on the album. With more electro synth involved it offers something totally different from Three. Her high pitched vocals are dream like and depict fragility.

Since the 2014 release of Sheezus, it seems Lily has changed her tune. These tracks should not be overlooked.
